Description
This Last Supper is a freeformish game about architects who must decide which apostle to chop out of the Last Supper in order to put in a doorway. Players take the roles of figures in the painting or the architects. Apostles are prompted to strike new poses which describe new scenes, communicate facts about their background using symbolic objects, and in general defend their importance within the mural.
This is actually pretty fun. I learned a lot about playtesting while playtesting it.
The game isn’t about religion even though players take on the roles of the apostles, it’s about the codes used in paintings and about the hard choices of civic improvement. You might enjoy this slightly more if you have an interest in art history, but it’s not at all necessary.
